Spring has sprung, the flowers are starting to bloom, leaves are returning to the trees, the rains (and snow) are tapering off and the Charity Ride Events are starting up. Up here in the California Bay Area our first event of the year is the MS Top Hat Classic. This is a 4 route, 10/25/50/75 mile, event that allows us to spend the day riding through charming East Bay communities (all routes), over the beautiful foothills of Mount Diablo (25-mile route), under the tall redwood trees of the San Leandro Hills (50- and 75-mile routes), and past sweeping views of Briones Regional Park (75-mile route).

Last year we had a fantastic day that had over 1,800 bicycle riders joining together to help raise funds for this charity, however no charity event is ever complete or successful without the volunteers.

We need your help. Currently we only have 4 definite motorcycle HAM volunteers and 2 maybes. We need more. Last year we had 11 volunteers on Motors (see the group photo below from last year) and I would like to see us get at-least that many this year.

We know that times are difficult this year. More people are out of work, money is tighter then ever and the war and risk of terrorist’s attacks do not make our day-to-day lives easy. If you are able to come and help us with this event it would be great. You not only get to spend the day riding in the sun and beautiful sites but you will also be able to help a worthy charity.

If you are available then please send me an email at:

or give me a call at at:

I can also assists in making Motel/Hotel recommendations.
