RIDE NOTICE

Since the loss of our Ride coordinator, Warren Birmingham, our regular ride program has been put on hold until we find another ride leader.

We will still have occasional rides, but they will be listed on our Calendar page because of the short planning horizon.

If you are interested in taking on the role of ride coordinator for us, please send me an email at the address listed on the Home page.

Thanks,

Roger...

Monthly Ride Information

Rides are scheduled the 2nd Sunday of each month and are not sponsored, but Warren Birmingham, K6PHW, coordinates ride selection and scheduling.   Ride format and routes are provided for convenience, but attendance and ride responsibilities are at your own risk.  While we make an attempt to ride together and provide camaraderie, you are welcome to show up anywhere along the route, or at the destination.

If you plan on joining us on a ride, consider the following:

bulletEveryone is welcomed to attend.
bulletArrive with a full tank of gas.
bulletRides depart promptly at the scheduled departure time.
bulletA relaxed touring pace is used and observation of all traffic laws are strongly encouraged.
bulletMany of us have ham radios installed on our motorcycles and will listen to the 147.240 MHz Repeater (+ 0.600 MHz offset, no PL).  Once underway, we often transition to a simplex frequency for bike to bike communications.  Our typical bike-to-bike simplex frequency is 144.370 PL=100.  However, when we are trying to also listen in on a repeater to help others meet up with us, we may use 446.500 MHz to leave the 2-meter side of the radio on the coordinating repeater.  If you want to communicate with us outside of simplex range so we can merge en route, please let us know the frequency information you think would help us hear you where we might meet.
Rides originate and group in Newark / Fremont, CA city line in the shopping center parking lot located:

bulletWatch our website and BA-MARC mailing list for the latest updates on the rides.

Contact Warren Birmingham at [email protected], or at (510) 793-4806 if you are planning to go on a current ride.  If no one says they are going by the ride date, the trip may be cancelled without notice.
