Our first
annual Christmas party had over 15 smiling faces and
warm personalities making it a great success. In
some respects, this party also became our first
anniversary celebration. Our anniversary was in
September, but preparations for our last charity event
put it on the back burner until December.
Sandra
Pacheco, KG6HHP, opened her home to our hoard of
bikers and was a superb host. People brought
food, money, and large appetites, and we all left an
enormous pile of grub and dishes behind. Rumors
have it that Sandra prodded her colleagues at UCSC
that following week in an attempt to reduce the
remains before they found their way to her and her
family's waistline.
For
food we had a large Honey baked ham, mountains of
mashed potatoes, enough gourmet salsa to take a bath
in, too many vegetable platters, large salads, three
amazing Gizdich pies, over 40 sinful brownies and
plenty of soda and wine to wash the carpets. All
of this was laid out on a long beautiful table setting
with fine crystal and silverware. Clearly, we
were indulging ourselves and it was just plain great.
To
help us remember who was there are four more pages of
images in a gallery that will haunt us like the
calories we engorged that day. All the photos
are displayed as "thumbnail" pictures that
were reduced in size to allow quick web access.
Clicking each image will produce a larger better
resolution picture. There are even larger
pictures available stored on my home drive that can be
sent to anyone who will ask.
Happy Holidays,
Roger...
