If we have cancellations, not all of the positions for our COMM team are filled, so we’ll need to be flexible with some of our support locations should that prove necessary.

EVENT Management:
Communications and problem resolutions for the all the course positions will be handled through Net Control.

Collin Lim, KD6YCV, is handling event Logistics.  All critical decisions about the event will be fielded through Collin.  Collin is also directly managing the release of Walkers and the control of the parking area.

Richard Tidd, KE6HNY, and Paul Lufkin, K6PML, will handle NCS communications through a directed net.

COMM FREQUENCIES:
Primary Net Control frequency is  147.540 Simplex, no PL, and 446.400 SIMPLEX no PL.

Our backup for the main event frequency will be the Stanford repeater: 145.230 " - " PL = 100.00

Event site area, Walker Release Start, and Parking Control frequency is 147.575 SIMPLEX and no PL.

APRS tracking will operate in Net Control on 144.800.  See this page for more information:

CHECK-IN Location:
All volunteers please check-in with net control located in Mitchell Park. We will be near the tennis courts just off the parking lot. When you arrive we should have our green canopy and antenna up by 7:00 AM.  To check-in, please proceed to the event’s volunteer check-in table near net control to let them know you arrived.  They will have your event T-shirt, name badge, signs for your vehicle (if you have a mobile assignment), and the option of borrowing a safety vest.

VOLUNTEER PARKING:
Mitchell Park has a lot of parking, but with a large crowd expected, we will reserve six places.  Three for the SAG vehicles needing to shuttle in and out of the park with course volunteers, two for motorcycles and one of the radio van.  Rest Stop parking seems to be plentiful and shouldn't be a problem.

FOOD:
People assigned away from the event start location should bring water and whatever snack they might want between meals with them.  Event management has assured me they will have plenty of food for volunteers coming in at the end of the event.

PHONE CONTACT:
During the event I'll have my Cell phone turned on. If by chance your radio fails, or if you don't have one, you can reach me on my Cell phone. Over the weekend I'll also have my cell phone with me during the boy Scout fundraiser where we are also helping on Saturday.
